FAQ
I have never done Yoga before. Can I do Hot Yoga?
Our Hot Yoga classes are set up so that they can be taken by absolute beginners as
well as advanced yogis. Most people are inflexible and out of shape. Not enough exercise stiffens muscles and joints and many jobs
require long hours of sitting. Yoga helps to alleviate stiffness, creates flexibility and realigns the spine. If you are not
flexible, all the more reason to start practicing yoga.
Do I need to make an appointment for my first class?
No,
just make sure to arrive 15 minutes before the class starts and bring a yoga mat, a large towel and a bottle of water. For your convenience,
we sell yoga mats and bottled water, and rent towels.
How many calories do I burn in a class?
Health professionals estimate that
you can burn between 400-1200 calories per class, but other weight loss factors may be more important, such as improved
metabolism, less cravings and relieving stress which causes unnecessary weight gain. Practicing yoga will also make you more conscious
and mindful of when and what you eat and how to take better care of your body.
What should I do after a class?
Take it easy,
cool down and drink fluids. After your first class, it is normal to feel a bit sore. Yoga always stretches and strengthens what is
weak and so it reveals what needs work. The best thing to do is to come back as soon as you can! You will go through the
same postures again and you will soon feel better and stronger.
How often should I practice Hot Yoga?
We recommend you practice
as often as you can, three or more times a week if your schedule allows it. If yoga complements additional exercise such as running
or weight lifting, less may be OK. Continuous yoga practice will help improve your athletic performance. A lot of people
practice yoga every day and make it a part of their life.
